This 33 years old cognac comes from Bonneuil in the Grande Champagne. It has been distilled by a local distiller and has been aged in well seasoned oak casks in one of Delamain cellars strictly Réserved for the aging of the vintage cognacs. Available in limited quantityPrice includes high quality cardbox. Wooden box shown on picture may be shipped at an additional cost. Cognac Delamain is amongst the few brands that may attribute a Millésime, or vintage, to some of its Cognacs. The selection of the young Cognac is fundamental, this Grande Champagne Cognac from the 1971 Vintage was purchased by Delamain from a grower distiller located near La Nérolle, commune de Segonzac. It has been aged in well-seasoned casks (made from French oak, max. capacity 350 liters) in the special cellar on the banks of the Charente river with its ideal hygrometry degree to age Cognacs. It is a rare Cognac destined for the true connoisseur looking for great purity and the unique character of an old and magnificent Grande Champagne Cognac. A Note on Millésime Cognacs: The year indicated on the label is that of the harvest of the youngest eau-de-vie in its blend. In November 1962, the highest instances regulating Cognac trade decided that it would no longer be legal to add a vintage on the label of a blended Cognac matured in France. In 1989 a new law allowed again the use of Millésimes for Cognac. The rules forbid to put a date on the Cognac, as its label reflects the age of the youngest eau-de-vie in its blend. Cognac stops its maturation as soon as transferred in a glass container. The quality and age of a Cognac depend primarily upon its length of stay in a wooden recipient.
